What wonderous time is this: In the year 2020, in the year of pandemic, when everything is shut and closed, Jesus meets us, like in John 20:19: “the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the middle, and said to them, Peace be to you.”
We all had our fights and tribulations in this year, whether in Germany, Peru, or Canada. In the beginning of the year, we barely knew each other, but now we consider ourselves “… fellow citizens in the household of God” (our liturgy), and even more than that, brothers and sisters, not by birth, but by choice.
In the year of the pandemic, our Churches grew closer together, formed one body, and we are all looking forward with great enthusiasm, to work more closely with each other, to share the good news, that Jesus is in our midst and will build up his people, his Church through our hands.
Let’s get this going, I love you all and I am looking forward to seeing you in person in 2021 or by the latest 2022.
And may Jesus, who loves with a wounded heart, bless you in this marvelous Christmastime.

Was für eine wundervolle Zeit ist dies: Im Jahr 2020, im Jahr der Pandemie, als alles zu und geschlossen ist, begegnet uns Jesus, wie in Johannes 20:19: „Die Türen wurden verschlossen, wo die Jünger versammelt waren aus Furcht vor den Juden, Jesus kam und stand in der Mitte und sprach zu ihnen: Friede sei mit euch.“
Wir alle hatten unsere Kämpfe und Bedrängnisse in diesem Jahr, ob in Deutschland, Peru oder Kanada. Anfang des Jahres kannten wir uns kaum, aber jetzt betrachten wir uns selbst als „… Mitbürger im Haushalt Gottes“ (unsere Liturgie) und noch mehr, Brüder und Schwestern, nicht von Geburt, sondern aus freien Willen.
Im Jahr der Pandemie sind unsere Kirchen enger zusammengerückt, haben einen Körper gebildet, und wir alle freuen uns mit großem Enthusiasmus darauf, enger miteinander zusammenzuarbeiten, die frohe Botschaft zu teilen, dass Jesus in unserer Mitte ist und sein Volk, seine Kirche durch unsere Hände aufbauen wird.
Lasst uns das in Gang bringen, ich liebe Euch alle und ich freue mich darauf, Euch 2021 oder spätestens 2022 persönlich zu sehen.
Und Möge Jesus, der mit einem verwundeten Herzen liebt, euch in dieser wunderbaren Weihnachtszeit segnen.

Qué momento tan maravilloso es el siguiente: En el año 2020, en el año de la pandemia, cuando todo está cerrado, Jesús se reúne con nosotros, como en Juan 20:19: „Las puertas estaban cerradas donde los discípulos fueron reunidos por temor a los judíos, Jesús vino y se paró en el medio, y les dijo: Paz sea con ustedes.“
Todos tuvimos nuestras peleas y tribulaciones en este año, ya sea en Alemania, Perú o Canadá. A principios de año, apenas nos conocíamos, pero ahora nos consideramos „… conciudadanos en la casa de Dios“ (nuestra liturgia), y aún más que eso, hermanos y hermanas, no por nacimiento, sino por elección.
En el año de la pandemia, nuestras Iglesias se acercaron más, formaron un cuerpo, y todos esperamos con gran entusiasmo, para trabajar más estrechamente entre sí, para compartir las buenas nuevas, que Jesús está entre nosotros y edificará su pueblo, su Iglesia a través de nuestras manos.
Vamos a poner esto en marcha, los amo a todos y estoy deseando verlos en persona en 2021 o para el último 2022.
Y que Jesús, que ama con un corazón herido, os bendiga en este maravilloso tiempo navideño.
